Roof Quality for Solar Panel Instillation

Blog, July 2012 - Tags: atascadero solar, san luis obispo solar, Solar Electric - solaruser Monday, 09 July 2012

If I live in an old house, will the quality of my roof affect my eligibility to install solar panels? If so, is there an alternative?

The quality of your roof is an important aspect of installing solar. If your roof is about worn out then it would be smart to replace it before installing the solar system. The panels will extend the life of a roof in good condition. It is the sun which breaks down roofing components and once solar panels intercept the sun, the roof will last much longer. We have pulled up solar panels on homes that are being reroofed after 15-25 years to find that the roof under the panels look as good as new.
