Solar Electricity in a Power Outage

Will I have electricity if the power goes out?

The answer is no, not without battery backup. Most systems are designed to operate when the electrical grid is up and running. The result is a less complicated system with a lower price point. Electricity is very reliable and most customers would rather save the money and have a less complicated system. However, that said, we do a number of systems where the customer wants to be able to run lights, refrigerator or has computers they want to keep running. In these cases, we will add a dedicated subpanel that will get electricity during power outages. The longer the customer wants the system to keep running the more it will cost as additional batteries are required.
