Solar Water Heating Jobs?

Solar Energy Industries Association just released a poll showing that 74% of Americans agree that the solar water heating industry will provide jobs and help the U.S. economy. Positive perceptions exceeded negative perceptions by more than 10 to 1. With these new findings will there be more government support of this energy source?

Right now, bipartisan support for anything seems doubtful. Until we come to our senses and the federal government starts to do the people's work, I wouldn’t hold my breath. However, California does have incentives for using solar hot water. I have been making hot water and heat for my home and spa for over 34 years. The technology is ready and reliable. With the cost of heating hot water from propane and electricity, solar water heating is an extremely cost effective method of making hot water. When one considers greenhouse emissions, solar water heating and solar electricity are already a no brainer.
