Solar for Newbies

I’m completely sold on solar power. What would be the best way to get started? Is there a standard procedure that you recommend for solar newbie’s?

Call your favorite Solar Contractor and see what he recommends. Then call one or two other Solar Contractors to satisfy yourself that you are getting what you need at a fair price. Don’t necessarily go with the lowest price. Check out the contractor to make sure he can service what he sells and that he has a successful track record of several hundred systems installed. Ask for references so you can find out if the contractor did what he promised other customers and that the system is producing what was promised. Otherwise you may be the Ginny Pig for a large investment and end up with solar panels which won’t last or produce the power you are paying for. Installed price isn’t as important as power produced for the price you pay.
