What To Expect Next - Installation Projects
Solarponics uses Pipedrive, a CRM tool designed to improve customer communication and experience.
Documents, project updates, permits, change orders, etc... are now sent directly to your email inbox.
Documents that require signing are still processed via DocuSign or AdobeSign.
Please refer to the charts below to understand the process, and where your project is at.
Step 1: Site Assessment. Jake, our energy analyst, makes a site visit, takes pictures, light readings, etc., that help the engineers design your system. This usually happens within two weeks of signing a contract. If you have any questions, please call your design team at (805) 466-5595.
Step 2: Engineering and Permits. The design engineers start to layout the project which includes panel array location, conduit location and runs, placement of inverter, MSP information and upgrades, any trenching, wire sizing, etc... Once the plan is created, the permit is submitted with the design plan set to the local jurisdiction. You will be sent a site plan for review and approval at this step. This process takes about three to four weeks after Step 1. A 35% progress payment is due at this time. If you have any questions, please call your design team at (805) 466-5595.
Step 3: Equipment Delivery and Install. Equipment is delivered wither to the shop, or to the site. An install date is scheduled. This step typically takes up to four weeks after Step 2. A 50% progress payment is due at this time. If you have any questions, please call your design team at (805) 466-5595.
Step 4: Final Approvals. Your system is complete. We test the system so that you can see everything is operational and functioning correctly. A city or county inspector is scheduled to inspect and approve the project. This typically happens within two weeks of Step 3. Final payment is due at this time. If you have any questions, please call your design team at (805) 466-5595.
Step 5: PG&E Interconnection. Once the final permit is approved, PG&E has 30 days to approve and issue a "Permission To Operate." That means, your system can be turned on and start saving you money. If your system has monitoring, it will be activated at this time. You will receive a monitoring email with login instructions.
Walk Thru: Your energy analyst will do a "walk thru" with you of your system and operation. You'll also receive digital copies containing all of your project documentation such as contract, permits, design plan set, change order(s), final inspection.
If you have any questions, please call the design team anytime at (805) 466-5595.
